Mallorca: What to Pack?

Think Mediterranean!

The island of Mallorca, located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, enjoys a temperate climate year round with hot summers (with spikes over 40°C), chill but not excessively cold winter (almost never under 0°C) , and anything in between during the mid-seasons.

Knowing in which period you’re visiting is crucial for packing your luggage, although don’t worry too much in case you’ll forget something: in Palma there are countless malls offering plenty of choices, where you can buy everything you need for cheap.

In the following packing list, I go through what you should think of bringing to the magic Mallorca, in summer, mid-seasons and, for the VERY few ones that think about visiting in the colder months, also winter

The best season to visit the island to enjoy the sea is May-September; while Feb-Mar-Apr and Oct-Nov being good months for hiking and sports. Note that in winter most restaurants, shops and activities will be closed as over 80% of enterprises’s work is related to seasonal tourism.

Let’s go with the Packing List!

  • The island is extremely secure so think about bringing your jewels if you’d like, just don’t bring anything valuable to the beach (where the few thefts on the island are normally registered).
  • Mallorquine people like to dress slightly stylish in the night, so if you plan to attends special night events or go to above-average restaurants, you should think of bringing clothes aimed at a smart-casual outlook (hardly nobody will tell you something about your clothes, but you’ll feel more comfortable)

The atmosphere is relaxed, safe and laid-back; just aim at being comfortable and wear what you like; the island is made to enjoy the pleasures of life, so also not stressing too much about what to wear 😉
