The main reasons to visit during the wet season (which spans from December to May) are:

  • The forest burst with colours which are even stronger after the rain
  •  You can listen to more insects, animals, and birds sounds combined in melodies that rival the sounds of any orchestra (yes, the Amazon is not a silent forest, it’s pretty loud! ;D )
  • Less tourists visit in this time of the year and you can find better deals!

The main reasons to visit during the dry season (which spans from June to November) are:

  • Vegetation is less dense and there are somewhat less insects (although it’s always the Amazon!)
  • Moderate (fresher) climate with less humidity
  • Ideal period to see palm trees and elegant giant water lilies stealing the show
