Here are 7 Reasons Why you Should Visit Nepal and Put it on Top of your Travel Bucket List!
Let’s Start!
Why Should you Visit Nepal? 7 Great Reasons!
1. Enjoy the Beauty of the Everest Base Camp
Probably you are not surprised to see Mount Everest first on this list! The highest mountain on Earth, with his 8848meters of altitude, is a view worth a lifetime!
Although the climb to the summit is dangerous, requires good physic conditions and surely is not for everyone, many traveller from all around the world come to Nepal every year to at least admire its magnitude!
Reaching the Base Camp, located at an altitude of 5,340 meters above sea level is a fair compromise between adventure and safety that will work for most (me included!), a path where you can enjoy some of the most famous mountains in the world: the magic Himalaya!
To get the most out of your trek adventure, I suggest you to spend about 7-8 days hiking: in this way you can take it steady and slow and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding areas at your own pace.
2. Diverse Cultures Around this Country
Nepal has more around 35 ethnic groups all co-living side-by-side in the country
If we count tribes, we might arrive to over 125 different groups!.
Every tribe has a unique language, festivals, beliefs, and art. As you travel the country, you’ll never stop to be surprised!
As an example, when visiting the Kathmandu Valley, you might find some Newar people (ever heard before? I guess no!), hear them speaking their language, while partecipating in a festival called Swanti.
This event, for example, is a celebration that highlights the central role of women in the family.
Visiting Nepal will give you a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the distinctive cultures of this country and discover an incredible number of traditions you cannot even imagine!
Traveling Nepal is like traveling 100 countries all in one country! 😉

Nepal is not only nature, but it’s also very famous for its architecture, art, and also history. This is another good reason why you may want to visit Nepal today.
Indeed, Nepal is home to two breath-taking UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites.
These two sites include Lumbini and Kathmandu Valley.
Kathmandu Valley, is the cultural and politial hub of Nepal: an enormous valley home to the capital city of the country Kathmandu.
Here, you can find numerous medieval temples and the most beautiful Buddhist monasteries and stupas of the country, straight out from a fantasy book.
In Lumbini, on the other side, you can visit the famous birthplace of Lord Buddha!
Both of these heritage sites offer an incredible experience for all travelers and you should definitely add them to your itinerary for when you’re going to visit Nepal!
4. Nepalese People are Amicable
Chances are you won’t speak the same language as the 99% of the people you will meet on your way. Said that, don’t worry, here in Nepal people friendliness goes beyond words!
From my experience I can tell you, that in Nepal you will find many warm locals who are very friendly to the tourists and travelers coming to their country.
People in this country is just like that, very welcoming and warm (despite the cold temperatures you might find here!).
They will try to make you feel at home in Nepal. Someone on your path for sure will offer you tea while you are in this country: this is a traditional sign of acceptance, friendliness and hospitality.

Nepal is extremely rich in food.
Where cultures mix, food recipes also mix and incredible dishes are born!
If you are a foodie traveler or you just love to challange your mouth to new tastes and flavour combinations, you’ll love to travel to Nepal!
Nepali dishes not only are influence by the cultures living within the country, but are also greatly influenced by their neighbors too, including China and India.
One of the most popular dishes is the Dal Bhat (lentils cooked with rice and delicious curried vegetables). This type of dish is very famous in Nepal. It can be served as breakfast, lunch, or dinner: anytime is a good time for Dal Bhat! 😉
Last but not least, if you like beer (like me!), I am sure you’ll be enthusiast to try the famous Everest Beer, a rice-based beer to complete your food journey in the country!
6. Unique Wildlife
Nepal is a perfect destination for all wildlife lovers who want to spend a few days in contact with nature and its inhabitants.
Moving away from the snowy mountains, in the lowlands of Nepal there’s a world to explore and many incredible animals to spot!
A good start for wildlife enthusiasts, could be the Chitwan National park.
In this park, you can see the Royal Bengal tigers (!), crocodiles, one-horned rhinos, leopards, wild elephants, monkeys, and much much more!
In the Bardia National Park, you can expect to find more wild creatures such as red pandas, snow leopards, yaks, and blue sheeps.
Parks in Nepal are not “zoos”, but enormous protected areas where animals have plenty of space to wander around and you can admire them in their own habitat.
Always be mindful of respecting the wildlife and not disturbing it, there are few places like these ones in the world and we should all aim to protect them!
7. You Will Have the Chance to Be Peaceful
Nepal is a country especially recommended for those seeking a sense of serenity.
Nature, mountains, clouds, heart-warming smiles, simple tasty food, fresh air, buddhist temples, silence…
A Nepal tour has all the ingredients to bring you to feeling a strong sense of inner peace.
When you visit Nepal, you will love the ambience that you can enjoy in this comfortable nation.
